Specialist with honors in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine - University of Genoa. In 1983 and 1986 he was president outside in the Division of Rheumatology, New York University, NY. He is currently Associate Editor of the journal Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology, and member of the editorial board of Rheumatism, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Rheumatology, Neuroimmunomodulation, Rheumatist, Revista de Portuguese Rheumatology and refereed journals such as Arthtritis and Rheumatism and the Journal of Rheumatology. In 1999 Prof. Cutolo founded at the American College of Rheumatology a study group on Neuroendocrine of Rheumatic Diseases, which he coordinates (2002-2005). In 2010 he founded at the same ACR a study group on capillaroscopy. Prof. Cutolo has organized the first World Congress on 5 Neuroimmunoendocrinologia of the Rheumatic Diseases, and is Editor of the volume 876 (1999) and 966 (2002) (2206) (2009) Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, as well as volumes 26 (2000) and 31 (2005) of the Rheumatic Diseases Clinics of North America (Saunders). From 2004 to 2013, Prof. Cutolo has organized 6 Courses of EULAR Capillaroscopy. Prof. Cutolo is a member of the Scientific Committee dell'EULAR and past-Chairman of the Committee of Educational and Training dell'EULAR. In 2010 he was Executive Chairman of the EULAR congress in Rome (16-19 June 2010). Since 2011 he is elected president dell'EULAR. In 2002 Prof. Cutolo was appointed chairman of the Clinical Section of the International Society for NeuroImmunomodulation (ISNIM) and dell'ISNIM vice president in 2005, also is an elected member of the Scientific Board of the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA). From 2004 to 2007 Prof. Cutolo was Vice President of the Italian Society of Rheumatology.
